Dan Wood Responds to Rep. Hensarling's No Vote
on Hurricane Harvey Relief Bill

TERRELL, TX - Friday, Rep. Jeb Hensarling voted No on the bipartisan bill for Hurricane Harvey relief along with three other congressional Republicans in Texas. Hensarling is an ideologue who believes his extremist fiscal agenda is more of an emergency than helping thousands of his fellow Texans harmed by the hurricane. Fortunately for Texans, bipartisan support for the Harvey relief bill was overwhelming. Providing funding for relief and rebuilding in the aftermath of a disaster is a basic duty of elected officials. I support the federal funding bill passed by the House and Senate to help my fellow Texans.

When politicians like Hensarling put their ideology ahead of people in need, it is time for new leadership. The Texas 5th Congressional District will not forget Hensarling's vote against the interest of Texans. Hensarling is a 14-year member of Congress - it is time for a change.
